Frances Lake

Frances Lake, Yukon Territory, Canada - 2007 is the largest lake in southern Yukon. It was the location of the first Hudson’s Bay Company trading post in the Yuko. It is accessible from Yukon Hwy 4 about half way between Watson Lake and Ross River. We spent a couple of nights at the Frances Lake Wilderness Lodge which is accessible by float plane or boat. We were picked up by boat at a campsite a few miles north of the Lodge and were the only guest for the time we were there which was nice but unfortunate considering the beauty of the place. They have a number of nature trails that are well marked with descriptions of the various trees, plants and other natural items.
